Business & Finance Manager
ARTPOWER is an artist-led technology startup dedicated to strengthening the financial lives of independent artists. The recent launch of our beta product, tortoise, marks a new chapter for ARTPOWER.
We are seeking an experienced finance and operations leader to support our growing business and financial needs. Committed to operational excellence, the Business & Finance Manager works collaboratively with our growing team, and brings to the role a love of art and artists. The Business & Finance Manager is a solutions oriented leader responsible for overseeing accounts payable/receivables, revenue/expense reports, and providing insights to guide our continued growth.
The Business & Finance Manager reports to the CEO.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Finance

Ongoing oversight of daily bookkeeping, accounts receivable and payable for ARTPOWER, monitoring grant revenue, and cash flow

Prepare financial reports and analysis that provide insights that support data driven decision making
- Maintain robust financial controls and procedures to ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards including tax filing.
- Manage ARTPOWER’s fiscal sponsorship process and relationship with our fiscal sponsor
Business Operations / HR

Manage relationships with vendors/providers (e.g. insurance, accounting, payroll, benefits, credit card and travel accounts)

Support business decision-making and make strategic financial recommendations to ensure ARTPOWER’s sustained success

Oversee HR operations such as employee records, policies, and procedures and organizational structure and development

Manage compensation and benefits administration, ensuring competitiveness and equity

Ensure the company complies with all relevant labor laws, health and safety regulations, and HR best practices

Foster a culture of operational excellence, collaboration and growth
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

A passion / love for art and artists

Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities; experience using technology for business and fiscal operations

Experience with start-up and/or mid-sized business finance and performance management
- 10-15 years of experience in a senior financial leadership role, preferably within a tech startup

Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a finance team effectively

Solutions oriented leader who thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environment
- MBA in Finance, Operations, or a related field

COMPENSATION:
- 100-150K commensurate with experience

Primarily remote with meetings required in Pgh and NYC
